Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History Reza Mirzaei featured in two concurrent Tehran exhibitions

Alfred University Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History Reza Mirzaei, School of Art & Design, New York State College of Ceramics, has been featured in two concurrent exhibitions at O Gallery in Tehran, Iran, running through Nov. 27.

The first exhibition, From Khosrow to Khedri, marks O Gallery's tenth anniversary, bringing together 17 influential artists who have shaped the gallery's vision over the past decade. Mirzaei's work is presented alongside other notable Iranian contemporary artists, such as Ghasem Hajizadeh and Ali Nassir, in this curated selection that celebrates the gallery's artistic journey and evolution.

Simultaneously, Mirzaei's work is also featured in Still Point, an exhibition drawn from O Gallery's private collection. Taking inspiration from T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets, this show explores themes of empty spaces, unseen forces, and the profound areas that exist between the visible and invisible. The exhibition brings together fifteen contemporary artists whose works investigate the concept of space as both medium and metaphor.

Founded in 2014, O Gallery has established itself as a vital force in Tehran's contemporary art scene. Located in a renovated 1960s building in central Tehran, the gallery operates across three floors with two exhibition spaces and a private viewing room. Known for nurturing emerging talent while also showcasing established artists, O Gallery has become an important platform for contemporary Iranian art both locally and internationally. The gallery maintains a comprehensive program that includes publishing artist monographs, organizing pop-up exhibitions, and fostering meaningful dialogue between artists, curators, and audiences.
